Good Bacteria

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 12:42 pm

Health Nut Nation recently put up a post on the health benefits of fermented foods. Apparently fermented foods contain bacteria that are good for your health. Who would have guessed?

And what is the post author’s preferred form of healthy bacteria? Bubbies Sauerkraut! We always knew it tasted good, but never knew it was so good for you.

They Like Us in Baltimore

Baltimore’s Urbanite Magazine recently posted a brief but favorable review of Bubbies—and offered a rather unconventional use for our product as well. While we can’t officially endorse their homemade remedy, we do appreciate the praise.

An “Extra Great” Vegetarian Reuben Sandwich

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 1:20 pm

Hello! I just wanted to say how much I love your Sauerkraut! I love it so much, I created a vegetarian Reuben sandwich and use your sauerkraut, which makes it extra great. I also use your horseradish in my Reuben dressing. I added a link to your site from my blog at http://vampiregran.wordpress.com.

Check it out! I think you will like it, especially the shot of the jar of Bubbies sauerkraut next to the sandwich piled high with the kraut. Keep up the good work and I’ll keep telling the world about Bubbies. My blog had 2,355 hits in one day, so if you ever want to advertise, let me know!

Sincerely,

Life is good, but my Bubbies were great!

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 1:16 pm

I’m 62, and I grew up in west Los Angeles. I had 2 Bubbies who shared the name Ida; one from Russia, the other from the Ukraine. My folks and Ma’s parents owned a small Mom and Pop Jewish Grocery/Deli on the Venice Boardwalk from the 40′s until the 60′s. Bubbie and I would scrub cucumbers, sprinkle them with spices, kosher salt, garlic and fresh dill and pickle them in wooden barrels. Our customers served themselves using rusty tongs, then placing their pickles (or herring) on a piece of newspaper. We also made our own sauerkraut and vanilla cherries.

Half-done pickles were my favorite, which were usually finished around Passover. But I especially enjoyed them around that time because it was the beginning of the baseball season, and soon came summer where we began pickle making at our beach front store. That is just a thin slice of memories that are evoked from me opening a jar of Bubbies Sauerkraut. Life is good, but my Bubbies were great!

Memories

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 3:23 pm

Wow!!..what a delicious pickle…with the very first bite it brought back memories of my childhood at my bubbies in Brooklyn, N.Y….she knew I loved pickles and always had one just like yours waiting for me whenever I visited.. I have been searching for this special pickle for 60 years, and finally found it, thanks to your Bubbies pickles.  I always have Bubbies pickles in my refrigerator, and it gives me a nostalgic smile and feeling whenever I open the refrigerator door and see your jar…I guess that says it all…
Thank you….Arthur Bishop

Bubbie Discovers Bubbies

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 3:26 pm

I have recently become convinced of the necessity of having raw sauerkraut in my daily diet. I’ve discovered your delicious sauerkraut…It makes me laugh, too, that my grandchildren call me Bubbie, as I called my own grandmother, Bubbie.
