Dirty Spicy Martini

Martinis have long been perceived as the cocktail for the urbane and sophisticated. But sometimes mixologists - or "bartenders" as they were known in my day - get a little pretentious with their martini recipes. You know, the whole "shaken, not stirred" thing. That's why I thought I would have a little fun with the iconic vodka martini. In this lip-smacking variation, I added brine from my Spicy Dill Pickles for a salty and slightly cloudy - hence the "dirty" moniker - cocktail. A martini garnished with a dill pickle curl? Guaranteed to make anyone smile.

  1. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice, vodka, pickle brine and vermouth.
  2. Shake well.
  3. Strain into a chilled martini glass and garnish with a pickle curl and olive.
